Whitehorse - Day 6

We arrived in Whitehorse with rigs and cars so dirty you couldn’t tell what color they were! Luckily the campground had an RV wash site with a pressure hose. We teamed up with Dan and Pam and all 4 of us washed both our rigs. Then Roger took the Buick to the car wash.

We went to dinner with Gary and Ann and had bison burgers that were really good!

The local Walmart parking lot was packed with RV’s of all kinds. The back of one pickup camper was so dirty you couldn’t see the outline of the door but they had washed a circle around the door handle!

There were plenty of empty shelves at both the Walmart and the Superstore Grocery – waiting for the supply trucks to come in but, overall it was a nice grocery store with good produce. Trivia: a 6 pack of Corona cost us $17.50! All liquor is sold by the Canadian government and taxed liberally!

Yard art at its best! They even had lawn chairs   inside this globe made of bicycle wheels!

We hiked back to the suspension bridge across Miles Canyon in the afternoon. The Yukon River is a beautiful emerald green like Lake Tahoe. We carry our bear spray everywhere – glad we have not had to use it!
