Mom

Mom passed away, Thursday, June 7, 2012 - she would have been 89 years old on June 30th. .She had only been sick 3-4 days and Judy and Mel were with her. We will be forever grateful to the staff at her new "home" for giving her such tender, loving care. I am so glad Megan and I saw her around Mother's Day. Heather and the girls arrived in the United States the following Saturday for their annual summer visit so the whole family was in Michigan for her funeral. It was nice to see family and friends we haven't seen in a long time, despite the reason. Samantha and Emily did very well with it all - they are a constant reminder that life goes on and our family circle evolves. Samantha Kate says she is the "only Kate now." With both Mom and Dad gone, I feel "orphaned" and realizing I am the oldest generation is really scary! Is wisdom supposed to come with this new role?
