Mother's Day 2017

Kyle is out of town on business so we spent Mother's Day with Heather. Roger and the girls made us a nice brunch on the patio and then we went to see Cirque du Soleil's "Kurios" in the afternoon.

The name of this particular show is "Kurios" or "Cabinet of Curiosities." For anyone that has never been to a Cirque du Soleil performance there is no way to describe the unique circus acts. The costumes, the set, the imaginative routines and the incredible talent of the acrobats is utterly amazing! We were WOWED! A fun family time for Mother's Day!

The only sad part of the day was the Spurs game - they lost by 2 points!

Hanging out in Texas

We have been in Texas - San Antonio, Austin and Houston - since the middle of April. Having fun spending time with family and friends.

Samantha had a gymnastics meet in San Antonio during Fiesta. Carlos and Megan joined us on Saturday and we went to the King William Fair then the meet on Sunday morning. Heather and Emily spent the night at NASA with her Girl Scout Troop.

It was nice to see Kyle, Rachel and Avery last Saturday for dinner. What a cutie Avery is!!

Last Sunday both the girls scout troops hosted a Mother's Spa Day at Heather's house. All the girls made brown sugar scrub for their Moms and gave them foot, hand and shoulder massages and did their nails. The Mom's enjoyed fruit, veggies and cupcakes while waiting for their "appointment." It was really nice!

Kyle and Heather just put in a new swimming pool and are in the midst of landscaping their back yard. Glad it is warm enough to enjoy!

Roger has seen several new "toys" he would love to have - model airplanes, drones, and a Traeger grill!

Spring has Sprung in Tucson

Beautiful weather here in Tuscon for our Alfa Rally. The cactus are blooming!

I love this campsite arrangement - 4 RVs in a square with a green space in the middle. Never seen it anywhere else!

There is a club for railroad lovers here at the park and they keep this great display going!

Alfa Rally

Rincon Country West RV Park, in Tucson, has been invaded by Alfa motor homes and 5th wheels for the annual Alfa Rally! We are members of the Roadrunner chapter - most of us full timers! We met most of these good people when we attended our first Alfa rally here, right after we purchased this motor home - came so Roger could learn all about it! The rallies are usually held in Arizona so we don't come every year. It is always fun to play "catch up" with these friends with similar interests - 

we get new ideas for where to travel next!

Escapade 57 - Escapees Rally - Tucson, AZ

We have had an educational week here at the Escapee Rally! We have attended so many classes our brains are on overload! I have learned a lot from Jim and Chris Gould (Geeks on Tour) about my IPhone, Google photos, and blogger that I can't wait to have some "down time" to experiment with everything.

Tommy, Dorothy and Judy have joined us, so it has been fun to share all our new information. And, of course, the vendors have prospered from us! We purchased a new magnetic windshield cover and a new Verizon plan which gives us unlimited data (yea!) and me a new IPhone 7! Roger gets my old phone - sort of like when we get a new car!

Tommy, Dorothy and Judy are leaving for home today but we are staying in Tucson for the annual Alfa rally. It will be great to see our Alfa friends but we are anxious to return to Texas - been on the road a long time!

Roger joined the Elks Chapter in Wilcox, AZ - so we can camp at their lodges - we are heading there on Sunday for Steak Night and he is being inducted on Monday night - along with all the other Escapees that joined!. They made it so easy that we couldn't pass up the opportunity!

Yuma, AZ

We are "vegging" in Yuma for a week. Cleaning the dirt and dust from every crevice inside and out! In all the years we have had a motor home we have never paid to have it washed and waxed - until yesterday - it was filthy and the temperature was in the  90's!  Money well spent, it looks great!

We are staying at Cocopah Golf & RV Resort - planned on relaxing and playing golf - but, it is way to hot. I barely tolerated 9 holes yesterday. I know it is a "dry heat" but...... !

We met Jim and Pat for pizza on Friday night - one last get together before they head back to California. Tommy and Dorothy leave for Phoenix today. We had a great time with them in Mexico - need to plan another great adventure!
